A Busy Weekend

This weekend I was hugely busy shooting the FIBT Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Cup as well as the CWHL Team Alberta vs Burlington games in Strathmore and Calgary.  

The Canadian skeleton and bobsleigh teams let me tag along and shoot some behind the scenes stuff.  I was amazed at how cramped for space the bobsleigh shop got when all of the two-man and four-man sleds were in and getting pre-race work done.  

The CWHL game at Winsport was busy as well, with two remote cameras (including a strobed netcam.)  Team Alberta only scored one goal on the net with the camera in it (none for Burlington as they were shut out) but I got lucky and got the shot.

Hayley Wickenheiser's International Women's Hockey Festival

This was my second time out in Burnaby for Hayley's festival.  This year 62 female hockey teams were here to take in some great clinics, including nutrition, footwork, and core training, as well as the tournament.

IIHF World Girl's Hockey Day

The International Ice Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada held the first World Girl's Hockey Day around the world.  The new Canadian Women's Hockey League Team Alberta hosted the event, and as part of the festivities they played an exhibition game against Warner Hockey School.  A great day all around!

China Menace

My buddy Calvin, his wife Mina and little boy Naveed were at the Lululemon Salutation Nation.  I had my strobes with me so we did an impromptu photo shoot at the end.  I kinda like this photo.

Lululemon Salutation Nation in Calgary

I got the call to shoot the Lululemon Salutation Nation in Calgary. It was a perfect morning for some yoga. The only thing that disturbed the fresh air and calming music was the sound of my shutter!

Krista and Mark's Wedding

My first wedding!  I shot this for my friend Krista.  

The wedding was out in Golden and we did some mountain bike shots of her family with strobes (the Einstein 640s with a PocketWizard Multimax and  two MC2s.)  Wedding day was at the top of Kicking Horse.  Great spot.  Here are a few pics from the weekend.

We also had a little fun with the new Canon 8-15mm fisheye.  I love this lens!

Ultimate Frisbee Dogs

I shot some ultimate frisbee at Stanley Park in Calgary last Saturday.   I used the 300 2.8 for some practice and love it for these.  I love dogs!

Kendra and Tate

Friends of mine are getting married in September and I was asked to shoot the event as well as some engagement photos.  We ended up at a few places, including an old gas station and a scree slope along Highway 1 between Calgary and Canmore.  Here are some favourite pics.
